School Programs

The purpose of the Growth in Schools program is to give young people the opportunity to learn the game of basketball in a fun and interactive environment, whilst learning valuable life-skills and strategies to help them navigate day-to-day life.

The program targets primary and middle-school (Yr 7 - 9) school students, providing a mixture of exposure to aspirational figures and hands-on involvement in basketball sessions to introduce them to the game.

In addition to typical game-based skills the program also focuses on developing a sense of teamwork, cooperation and sportsmanship between students. Using basketball as the vehicle, students will come to understand the importance of goal setting, healthy eating, active living, and responsible choice making in a context that allows them to apply these skills with immediate effect.

Sessions are delivered for students of all skill levels and dependant on class sizes and student availability, coaches will run as many clinics as needed to ensure every student gets the opportunity to learn and enjoy the program and all it has to offer. Run the program for one class or the whole school!
